Time.

Time is GOLD
Time plays a big part in everyone's life. It's just that not everyone realises how important it is to them. There are always quotes I hear from people's mouths like "I need more time" or "She/He caught me at the wrong time" or "Only time will tell" etc. But what if you have a good opportunity, and at that split second, you can make a decision which can influence the current life you have now, which can make you happier? If you screw this opportunity up, you may never get another chance like this until after a few months, years, maybe even never.. What if tables were turned and you gave this chance to the same person who gave it to you, would you take it or leave it? Basically, what I'm trying to say is, allow time to play it's part in your life but don't throw away opportunities which may not always come. The decisions you make can be influenced by the time you make them. Think about what's best for you and others around you. Time is a precious thing. Don't waste it.

Happiness. .

This post was inspired by one of my girls and is dedicated to all the girls out there who feels this way.
It's funny how the one person that you used to think made you happy, isn't making you happy at all anymore. What if one day it all comes crashing down, and you know it will come to an end one way or another? What if that day comes where you're preparing yourself for that pain you will have to go through the minute you break up 'cause you knew it was bound to happen? What if one day you chose to end it with the person you love, so that you wouldn't have to go through the suffering anymore, and felt it was the best for the both of you to just move on? Sometimes, they say "if it's meant to be, it's meant to be"... However, whether you break up or not, the truth is sometimes a break up or some space is good 'cause it can either test how strong your love is for each other or it can also determine whether you're happier being with them or without them. All you gotta do is wait and see what happens between the both of you, but this time, be strong enough to do what's best for YOU and no one else 'cause everyone deserves to be happy. No one deserves to go through the same suffering over and over again just to be with that one person. You can shed tears, but allow each tear to make you stronger and learn from every aspect that ever hurt you and overcome it. You gotta love yourself as well as that one person, so don't sit there hurting yourself, be the stronger person and make a decision that will benefit both you and him/her. If the suffering doesn't stop now, it'll hurt even more the later you leave it. Never forget about the things that made you smile in your relationship, keep it as a souvenir so at least you know for even that one second you were truly happy.

28th June '09

So I was sitting and waiting at my salon to get my hair done for Prom when I decided to go through some random mag. No it was no ordinary mag, the paper was a bit thicker than just an ordinary mag... It was almost like a mini catalogue with different fashion trends, hairstyles etc and here's what I encountered:

Funky Hats;
<--this was one of my favourites!

Anime make up;
Believe this was actually real people. Their anime eyes were drawn on top of their eyelids so they had to take pictures with their eyes shut! The aim was to reach the anime effect with the make up and hair. Also cause the designer saw anime as not just sweet little japanese girls but girls with an edge, some violent and aggressive so they made the models appear with weapons which is clearly shown in their outfits. I love this!
I hope you enjoyed this random post lol.

Pixie Lott - What U Do :)

Because I'm so in love with this song, I thought I'd put the lyrics up :) - the video is in the blog I posted below this but I'll put it up anyway ^_^

What U Do:
baby baby baby
didnt believe in love at all
went through my days with a wall in place
baby baby baby
thought I'd be stronger on my own
but then you came along and Im changed

yes i feel the butterflies
yes I go all weak inside
hate to admit it but Im hit and
I dont want you to leave my side
used to love all romantic films
now I see you and me in them
say cheesy lines like"I'll be yours if you'll be mine."
this must be love
love what you do to me
oh what you do to me
cant get enough
of what you do to me
oh what you do to me
put your hands up if you feel like this
if your crazy about a guy and its real like this
put your hands up if you feel like this
if your crazy about a girl and its real like this

baby baby baby I've been spraying your cologne on my clothes
have I gone insane?
maybe maybe maybe I was way too cynical
thinking I would never find out Im crazy
Roses used to make me quease
but from you they smell so sweet
hate to admit it but Im hit and
god I even like your feet
never had a boy get me so
your picture's under my pillow
call you all the silly names
my boo my baby cakes

this must be love this must be love
love what you do to me
oh what you do to me
cant get enough
of what you do to me
oh what you do to me
put your hands up if you feel like this
if your crazy about a guy and you feel like this
put your hands up if you feel like this
if your crazy about a girl and its real like this

oh its a shame I was ashamed
embarrased to feel
head over heels
thought love was just fantasy
but now with you
I dont have to hide
you bring me to life
I never knew.... ooooh

if youre crazy about a guy and you feel like this
hey, put your hands up if you feel like this
put your hands up if you feel like this
like this, like this, like this, like this, like this, like this, like this, like this....
this must be love
this must be love
this must be love
look what you do to me
oh what you do to me
cant get enough
of what you do to me
oh what you do to me
put your hands up if you feel like this if your crazy about a guy and it feels like this
put your hands up if you feel like this if your crazy about a girl and you feel like this
like this, like this, like this, like this, like this....

"Identity Crisis"

Benjamin Zephaniah's poem 'Knowing Me' and other Post-Colonial Literature has inspired me to post this blog because one of its main themes are identity - and 'cause I'm studying it at English A level.
Who are we? Why do events from decades ago still affect personal views now? Especially when we're living in such a multi-cultural society today. Why is it that some people are still against mixed race babies - no, I'm not just talking about Black and White parents, I'm talking about Asian and White, Oriental and Black etc. Personally, I think they make beautiful babies!
Benjamin Zephaniah's 'Knowing Me' poem emphasises how proud he is to be who he is; Ethiopian and Jamaican. It does not make him "feel lost" neither is he against "sex" with other ethnicities; "diversity is [his] pornography" and he does not need to have an "identity crisis to feel oppressed". Unlike Derek Walcott's poems on slavery, oppression and imprisonment e.g. 'The Castaway' and 'The Almond Trees', Zephaniah takes a more modern approach and reflects the socioety he is living in now to his personal views of things. He does not allow what happened to his ancestors to affect his identity and feels accepted in the world he lives in now.
Zadie Smith's 'White Teeth' also shows the influence of colonialism on individuals. One of my favourite poems are 'A Grain of Wheat' written by Ngugi wa Thiong'o. It's a great poem surrounding the idea of isolation and how it can affect you mentally and psychologically.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that identity is mostly seen as what your ethnic background is, and it's funny how they have certain categories in those questionnaires you have to fill out. What if you don't entirely just fit in one; like me being Filipino, Japanese and Spanish but living in Britain - where do I tick? I'm not saying I feel lost but it does not feel right to be categorised into just one ethnic background when you belong to more than just one. This forces me to tick "Any other Asian background" - it kind of feels degrading how you're pushed to the side about "other" kmt.
But hey, you still get those immature racist people calling you "Chinese" or whatever. LISTEN. Don't be calling Oriental looking Asians "Chinese" or ask for DVDs when we blaitenly do not look like DVD sellers. You wouldn't like it if I asked you for Curry, a spliff, or asked if you were selling fake Rolex watches so allow stereotyping or doing whatever you're doing thinking you know who we are. Uhhh love, you don't cause you're just a random "it" on road who just can't tell the difference in the type of Oriental Asians you see so BUGGER OFF. The majority of you probably don't take your time fixing up your identity yet are so proud of who you are?! Alright, bigheads and conceited individuals need serious fixing up 'cause you really do not have a say in other people's lives, thinking that you do. Think again.
